2003: USA November 7, 2003 Community celebrations are an affirmation of community spirit. Your efforts remind us of the values, the lessons and the ideals that we want to bring forward into the present, so that we may use them to build our future. We will always remember the sacrifices that were made by the Sikh community in the wake of the terrible attacks in New York and Washington. No community suffered greater loss as a reaction to the terrible losses we suffered as a nation. We thrive here on our diversity and the Sikh American community has made, and continues to make, positive contributions to the our greatness and prosperity.
